Below there is a bit more information about SEAI grants: what they cover, who is eligible to apply, and how we can help you meet your energy goals!

WHO ARE SEAI?

SEAI stands for the “Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland”. They work with everyone from the government to homeowners, and their mission is to help make Ireland’s energy use cleaner and more efficient.

Since the organisation was launched in 2011, SEAI has invested over €400 million in sustainable energy projects. SEAI understand the importance of energy saving on a commercial scale, and that small changes really do add up.

SEAI is focused on making Ireland’s households and businesses more energy efficient. To do this, they invite Irish businesses to apply for grants, which go towards upgrading energy systems.

WHAT GRANTS ARE AVAILABLE?

SEAI offers a range of grants, including funds towards electric vehicles, local projects and Irish businesses. If you want your business to be more energy efficient, you may be eligible for an SEAI grant.

Tax Allowance

The Accelerated Capital Allowance (ACA) is a tax incentive for companies paying Irish corporation tax who invest in new energy efficient equipment.

The ACA allows companies to write off 100% of the purchase value of qualifying energy efficient equipment against their profit in the year of purchase. This compares to just 12.5% for ineligible plant and machinery.

Grant amounts for the Solar PV System

The grant amount you receive is based on the standard output of your solar PV system. A solar PV system with an output of a maximum 1000kWp can be grant funded through the scheme. If the system installed is larger than 1000kWp, then the applicant may apply for the maximum grant offering of €162,600* and this is available for systems from 1kWp to a maximum of 1000kWp.

Solar PV System

Grant Value

1kWp* €900
2kWp €1,800
3kWp €2,100
4kWp €2,400
5kWp €2,400
6kWp €2,400
7kWp - 20kWp €300/kWp
21kWp - 200kWp €200/kWp
201kWp - 1000kWp (1MWp) €150/kWp
