SCHOOLS PROGRAMME
McHugh Renewables has created the first of its kind integrated solar supply and renewable energy education programme for primary schools.
RENEWABLES FOR SCHOOLS
Before embarking on a career as an electrician the owner of McHugh Renewables, Liam McHugh, was a primary school teacher with five years classroom experience. Having retained his registration with the Teaching Council he kept up his interest in education particularly around sustainability and responsible energy consumption. McHugh Renewables is a family business, part of McHugh Electric Ltd. Which has been in business for 41 years.
As a teacher, Liam recognises the unique potential that exists to use the installation of solar energy as a valuable learning tool where students will be able to see real world applications of sustainability and energy conversions. If you choose to use us as your contractors for the DES Schools Photovoltaic Programme, we will provide a comprehensive educational program for students to run concurrently with the solar panel installation.
To deliver this educational program, we have teamed up with a non-profit social enterprise, Education for Sustainability. Education for Sustainability will work with students in an interactive, hands-on energy workshop where they will gain valuable insights into energy transitions, climate change, and the future of sustainable power. The workshop is designed to be fun, students will participate in activities designed to demystify the world of renewable energy through interactive games, simulations, and real-life case studies. Activities include assembling and experimenting with solar panels to understanding the intricate processes of harnessing the sun’s power.
If you would like to consider using McHugh Renewables to install your solar panels as part of the DES Schools Photovoltaic Programme, we will be happy to send you a completed copy of form SPP06 Contractor Form of Tender.
